Fairhope and surrounding communities

If you are not certain whether you fall inside the area, call and ask. The answer is usually yes.

Before you call

Useful, but never required.

None of this is a prerequisite. It just makes the first five minutes of the call more productive.

  • What the machine is — desktop or laptop, and roughly how old.
  • What it does now, and what it did before it started doing that.
  • Any words on the error message, even partial ones. A photograph is ideal.
  • Whether anything changed recently — an update, a new device, a storm, a move.
  • Whether there are files on it you cannot afford to lose. Say this first if so.
  • When you are usually home, so a visit can be set without back-and-forth.

Emergencies

If a drive is failing, call — do not keep using it.

Continuing to run a dying drive is the single most common reason recoverable files become unrecoverable. Power it down and pick up the phone.
